action

OVA 1

The story is about 20-year-old Mikiko Oguro, who is fresh from the animation academy and has her first day at the small studio Studio Petit . Shortly after her arrival, she meets the production manager, who, however, has to resign shortly afterwards for health reasons. Mikiko, who gets the nickname Kuromi, suddenly has to lead the entire production of the second episode of the anime series Time Journeys , which to make matters worse is still far behind schedule.

So Kuromi has to make animators work harder and faster, which is not that easy. Kuromi is supported by Hamako Shihonmatsu, who is the artistic director of Studio Petit and who has become a good friend of Kuromi over the course of the story. Gradually, Kuromi manages to get the animators to work faster, so that the studio manages to finish the production on time and present the finished episode to the television station.

OVA 2

After Kuromi did such a good job producing Time Journeys, Studio Petit is now working on three different series. This time, however, she gets support from veteran producer Rei Takashimadaira. For Takashimadaira, however, the only important thing is the timely completion of the series, even if it means that the quality suffers. Ultimately, Kuromi has to decide whether the deadline or the quality of the products is more important to her.

Publications

The OVAs were produced by the Yumeta Company studio and directed by Akitaro Daichi. The first OVA has also been translated into English, French and German, while the second OVA has so far only been translated into English and German.

In Germany, both OVAs were released on two DVDs by the Anime House label.
