Anitra Steen

Anitra Linnéa Steen (born May 13, 1949 in Fagersta ) is a Swedish entrepreneur and politician ( Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti ).

Steen worked as a civil servant in the Swedish Ministry of Finance from 1981 . From 1989 to 1991 she was State Secretary in the Ministry of Education and from 1994 to 1995 as State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. She then became general director of the Skatteverket . From 1999 to 2009 she was CEO of the Swedish state alcohol monopoly, Systembolaget . In May 2009 she retired due to age.

Since 2003 she has been married to Göran Persson , who was Swedish Prime Minister until 2006 and whom she met during their time together at the Ministry of Finance.

Steen has been a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering since 1996.
