Anja Langer

Anja Langer (born June 3, 1965 in Stuttgart ) is a German bodybuilder .

Life

Anja Langer grew up in Böblingen . At the age of eight she began to actively train in a gymnastics club. Up to the age of 15 she practiced from several sports, including scuba diving , diving and jazz dance .

She started bodybuilding in 1980 and was only penultimate in her first competition in 1981. In 1983 she began training as a graphic design assistant , which she successfully completed in 1986. She continued to train on the side and came fourth in her first German championship in 1983. In 1985 she won the world championship in the junior class and in 1986 the German and European championship titles.

In 1987 Anja Langer became a professional bodybuilder and achieved second place in the world championships and fourth place in the Miss Olympia competition. The following year she was Vice-Miss Olympia. In 1989 she skipped all competitions and trained for the Miss Olympia competition in 1990. However, pregnancy and the birth of her son in January 1991 ended her professional career.

She turned to writing first, writing a fitness book with a co-author . She also appeared as a guest poser at competitions. In 1993 and 1994 she was a member of an experimental theater project that included dance as well as athletic body posing and performed several times on Stuttgart stages. From 1995 she ran her own fitness studio in Stuttgart. But since she had to invest more time in management , she turned back to active fitness as a “personal trainer” and consultant in 1998. At the same time, she also began to work as a photo model . Since 2000 she has appeared in various bodybuilding magazines.

Langer lives with her husband and children in the Stuttgart area.
