Margaret Ann Coffey (born August 31, 1946 in Inverness , Scotland ) is a Member of the House of Commons for Stockport .

Coffey moved in 1992 for Labor in the constituency of Stockport as the successor to Anthony Favell , whom she proposed in the election, in the House of Commons and has been a member since then. She was responsible for health in the shadow cabinet in 2016/17. Before that, she was a whip of the opposition for a year . Coffey joined the Independent Group in February 2019, along with six other Labor MPs, to protest against the leadership style of Labor Chairman Jeremy Corbyns .
