Anna Conrads

Anna Conrads (born February 17, 1979 in Neuss ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).

Life

Anna Conrads grew up in Neuss, where she first attended the Martin Luther Primary School and then the Nelly Sachs High School. She later moved to the Norf grammar school, where she graduated from high school in 1998. In the same year she began studying political science at the University of Duisburg-Essen , which she graduated in early 2006. During her studies she worked for a local radio station in Mülheim as well as for Duisburg community radio projects. From 2006 she worked for the North Rhine-Westphalian state group of the parliamentary group Die Linke. She was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 2010 to 2012.

Conrads became a member of the Young Democrats / Young Left and was active in the peace movement and in anti-fascist alliances. From 1999 to 2001 she represented the PDS / Open List in the culture committee of the city of Duisburg . She was president of the student parliament of the University of Duisburg-Essen. She gave seminars on political public relations and local politics for the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation .

In the state elections in 2010 , she moved into parliament from seventh place on the list. In her direct constituency Duisburg III she achieved the best first and second vote results of her party nationwide. In her candidacy for the state elections, she stated domestic and educational policy as the political focus. Anna Conrads is a member of Left Youth ['solid] , the ver.di trade union and the legal aid organization Rote Hilfe , which is classified as left-wing extremist by the protection of the constitution . In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , the Left Party did not return to the state parliament.
