Anna Körner
Anna Körner (born October 5, 1919 in Gmünd , Lower Austria ; † September 21, 2007 in Waidhofen an der Thaya ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).
Anna Körner attended elementary and secondary school in Gmünd and the first year of the commercial school in Waidhofen an der Thaya. In 1950 she was elected to the municipal council in Gmünd, and in 1958 to the city council. She was a member of this until 1970.
In 1954, Körner was elected to the Lower Austrian Landtag and in 1969 she became the first woman to become the second President of the Lower Austrian Landtag, and in May 1970 she was the State Councilor for Health and Social Affairs. In March 1979 she had to resign from her functions for health reasons.
Anna Körner died on September 21, 2007 in Waidhofen an der Thaya Hospital.
