Anne Ferrer , née Anne Perry (* 1947 in Essex ) is a British philanthropist . She is the Executive Chairwoman of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation India and the Chairwoman of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation Spain. The foundations aim to improve the living conditions of the most poverty-stricken communities in India.

Life

Anne Perry traveled to India in 1963 and finished her studies there. In 1965 she started working as a reporter for the Indian magazine "The Current". Three years later she met Vicente Ferrer during an interview. A short time later, she gave up her job as a journalist to take up the fight against poverty with Vicente Ferrer. In 1969 Anne Perry founded the Rural Development Trust (Vicente Ferrer Foundation India) together with Vicente Ferrer. In 1970 Anne Perry and Vicente Ferrer married.

Anne Ferrer is the Executive Chairwoman of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation India. Together with her son Moncho, who is responsible for program development, she forms a mainstay in the Vicente Ferrer foundation family. Anne Ferrer is particularly committed to the development and advancement of women in India.

  • Anne Ferrer receives the Isabel Ferrer Prize for Equality between Men and Women (Generalitat Valenciana) (2005).
  • The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs awards Anna Ferrer the Knight of the Civil Order of Merit (Spain 2014).
  • The government of Andhra Pradesh, India recognizes Anne Ferrer's contribution to rural development with the Hamsa Award (India 2015).
  • Anne Ferrer receives the Jamnalal Bajaj Award for Development and Welfare of Women and Children (India 2015).
  • The Robert Burns Humanitarian Award is given to Anne Ferrer (Scotland, 2018)
