Anne Oterholm

Anne Oterholm (born January 18, 1964 in Illinois , USA ) is a Norwegian writer and literary critic.

Life

Oterholm earned a degree as a Cand. philol. at the University of Oslo with French literature major.

Your first two novels are characterized by a stylish minimalism. Erotic motifs occur. The novel Avslutningen (1999) is more philosophical. Tilfeldigvis begjær (2001) is a novel about desire and boredom. For Tilfeldigvis begjær she was nominated in 2001 for the novel prize of the P2 listener as well as in 2009 for Toget fra Ajaccio , for which she won the Aschehoug literature prize in 2010.

From 2005 to 2012 Oterholm was chairman of the Norwegian Writers' Association Den norske Forfatterforeningen ; She has been its vice-president since 1999.

She then became an advisory member of the advisory board of the Norwegian state cultural authority Norsk Kulturrådet from 2014 to 2017 and, since 2013, full-time director of the Creative Writing course at Tromsø University .

After twenty years at the Gyldendal publishing house , she moved to Oktober 2015 with her new novel Liljekonvallpiken .
