Annelie Runge

Annelie Runge (* 1943 in Hillesheim ) is a German film director , screenwriter and journalist .

Annelie Runge works as a freelance writer and filmmaker in Bonn and Berlin. In her first job as a nurse, she worked for several years in the USA, French-speaking Switzerland and the Federal Republic of Germany until she decided to go to the journalism school in Munich. In addition to writing for radio stations and newspapers, she made magazine programs and portraits for television companies. In 1981 she made her first television play "False Love". This was followed by the novel “Die Liebesforscherin” published by Claassen-Verlag. From working on this novel, she developed the script for the television play of the same name. "End of a performance", a homage to her parents' cinema in the Eifel, was the opening film of the Duisburg Film Week in 1987. This was followed by the report volume “Angst”, 16 portraits of people describing their work situation. 1990 at Kreuz-Verlag, Zurich. The movie "Barmherzige Schwestern", which was completed in 1993 and for which she also wrote the screenplay, has been shown at many festivals, including a. in Hof, Saarbrücken, Dortmund, Rotterdam and Cairo. In 1994 a film essay on "Erotic Intelligence" was created. This was followed by long-term observation of a Filipino woman who was torn between the Catholic faith and the voodoo cult, and in 1998 a film diary about a trip to Beijing / Hangzhou / Shanghai: “In search of Chinese women artists”. With funding from the Filmstiftung NRW, the screenplay "Die Wirt Daughter" was created in 2001. In 2003 “Olga's decision” followed, the story of an escape. In 2005 she made “The Sweet Legacy”, a documentary film that tells the story of the “Eifel Film Stage” in the next generation. This was followed by the radio play "Amira & Judy" and the feature film script "My Mother's Beloved". Currently working on the novel manuscript "Lee".
