Annette Gerlach (born October 16, 1964 in Berlin ) is a German journalist and television presenter for the Franco-German cultural broadcaster Arte . She moderates in German and French.

Life

Born in Berlin, she has lived and worked in France since she was a student. After studying economics, she began her journalistic career with the French weekly magazine Le Nouvel Observateur in Paris. In 1992 she switched to the then newly founded television channel Arte in Strasbourg. Since 1998 she has moderated Arte's daily news (initially Arte Info, since 2010 Arte Journal ). At the same time, she directed and presented Arte Kultur , the station's culture magazine, from 2004 to 2010 . In addition, Annette Gerlach reports live from renowned cultural events from all over the world. Prominent examples in recent years are the reopenings of the operas in Barcelona and Venice ( Gran Teatre del Liceu and Teatro La Fenice ) or the Avignon theater festival . Current events from 2012 are the Salzburg Festival , the Cannes International Film Festival and the Bayreuth Festival . She also gained fame through her annual presentation of the Berlinale on Arte.
