Annfinnur í Skála

Annfinnur í Skála (born September 20, 1941 in Tórshavn ) is a Faroese writer. He writes dictionaries, textbooks and fantasy novels .

He was born as the son of the former auditor, mayor of Tórshavn and member of the Lagting, Siegfried Skaale (1906-1977) and Jóhanna M. Skaale (1906, nee Joensen) on a farm in Tröllanes .

Annfinnur is a student at Föroya Studentaskúla og HF skeið , teaching history, English and classical antiquity. He was also a member of the Faroese Institute for the Care of Mother Tongues and Examination Commissioner at the College of Education (Föroya Læraraskúli) and in History at the Faroese Academy (Fróðskaparsetur Föroya).

Annifinnur was married and has two sons.

In 2001 he received the MA Jacobsens Literature Prize (Bókmentavirðislön MA Jacobsens).
