Anno of St. Gallen

Anno von St. Gallen († December 1, 954 ) was from 953 to 954 counter- abbot of Craloh of the Benedictine monastery of St. Gallen .

Life

There is no documentary evidence of Anno before he was elected as the counterpart of Craloh. He began his brief term on September 23 or 24, 953. Then it is mentioned again in a document.

Act

According to Ekkehart IV , Anno began to fortify the village and the St. Gallen monastery. He is said to have dug out walls, ditches and towers, raised them or had them built. When he died on December 1, 954, the wall reached knee height.
