Annual Reviews
Annual Reviews headquartered in Palo Alto ( California , USA ) is a nonprofit publishing house, of the 47 annual magazine publishes about different natural and social sciences research. Each issue of the Annual Review contains around 12 to 40 comprehensive review articles that summarize the major advances made over the past few years on a specific topic. The topics can repeat themselves; for example, seven articles entitled " Attitude Change " appeared from 1981 to 2000 to present new and revised concepts in attitude psychology.
These reviews are widely used in teaching and research and serve to keep up to date with the current state of knowledge and to get a quick entry into a new scientific research area. All authors are proven experts in their subject and have been invited by the editorial team to write one or more articles.
Each of the 32 series is available as a bound, annual edition; individual articles can be downloaded from the publisher's website against payment or with an institute subscription.
history
The first set of Annual Reviews was Annual Review of Biochemistry , which was first published in 1932. Additional titles appear every few years in order to keep pace with scientific progress and the development of new subject areas. All editions have been available electronically since 1996, and since 2004 most of the Annual Review series have been illustrated with color illustrations.
