The Anscharpark is a green area in the Wik district of the Schleswig-Holstein state capital Kiel . The park with the buildings of the former naval and garrison hospital between Adalbertstrasse and Weimarer Strasse is approximately 62,000 m². A large part of the site was redesigned in 2017/2018 after most of the listed pavilions had been demolished and apartments were built on. In memory of the former naval and garrison hospital , which was called the Anschar Hospital from 1950 , the park-like area of ​​the hospital was popularly referred to as the Anschar Park . The site originally comprised around 20 buildings, including hospital pavilions, administration and farm buildings, a boiler house, operating theater and bath house, morgue, gatehouse, kiosk, inspector's and sub-civil servants' house, animal stalls, chapel and vegetable garden. The preserved buildings of the hospital as well as the outdoor facilities were included in the list of cultural monuments in Kiel-Wik . The name of the street Im Anscharpark , which runs through the park today, was determined by a resolution of the Kiel Council on April 17, 2008.
