Attack in London on June 19, 2017

In the attack in London on June 19, 2017 , a man killed one person in a rampage in a delivery truck and injured ten other people near the Finsbury Park Mosque in the north of the British capital.

The 47-year-old assassin, Darren Osborne from Cardiff , was arrested after the attack. The motive for the crime was "hatred of Islam".

Reactions

The British Prime Minister Theresa May spoke of a "terrible incident". Your thoughts are with the victims and their families. Opposition Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn said he was "utterly shocked".

Condemnation

The defendant Darren Osborne, who had already received 33 previous convictions, was sentenced to a life sentence of at least 43 years in prison for other crimes (break-ins, theft, drug possession and traffic offenses elsewhere) on February 2, 2018 by the Woolwich Crown Court in addition to murder and attempted murder . The fully confessed defendant showed no remorse and actually wanted to murder the Labor politician Corbyn, but then spontaneously decided otherwise. As a motive he gave hatred of Islam.
