The stage was determined by a six-man leading group. Also there was the later mountain classification winner Preben van Hecke (Belgium / Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise). Six minutes the six drove themselves out and were put back a good 30 kilometers from the finish. There were further attacks from the field in strong headwinds, including by Tony Gallopin (France / Lotto Soudal) or Lars Boom (Netherlands / LottoNL-Jumbo). But these were not successful. In the end there was a sprint of around 50 drivers in Oslo , which Edvald Boasson Hagen (Dimension Data) won ahead of Simon Gerrans (Orica). Due to the bonus seconds that there were at the finish, Boasson Hagen and Gerrans were able to place Pieter Weening , who was third in the overall ranking. The winner of the Tour of Norway 2017 was Boasson Hagen ahead of Gerrans. Boasson Hagen even fell 12 kilometers and was able to retreat into the field.
