Tosh Van der Sande (born November 28, 1990 in Wilrijk, Antwerp ) is a Belgian cyclist .
Athletic career
Van der Sande was already several Belgian champions on the track in his youth and became junior world champion in the points race in 2008 . He also won the silver medal in the Madison at the same world championships with Gijs Van Hoecke . In 2010 he and Jochen Deweer became vice European champion of the U23 in the two-man team.
From 2011 Van der Sande drove for the Omega Pharma-Lotto-Davo team, the Omega Pharma-Lotto team's junior racing team . In his first season for the team, he was able to win the U23 event from Liège – Bastogne – Liège and two stages of the Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux on the road . In 2012 he switched to Lotto Soudal . In 2016 he won a stage of the Tour de l'Ain .
In December 2018, Van der Sande was suspended from his Lotto Soudal team after testing positive at the Ghent six-day race . The team insisted on the suspension despite the fact that the substance in their nasal spray is approved. The team said they wanted to wait for the results of an investigation by the World Cycling Federation UCI . In January 2019 Van der Sande was informed by the UCI that the doping process against him had been discontinued.
