Sander Armée (born December 10, 1985 in Leuven ) is a Belgian racing cyclist .

Career

Sander Armée began his international career in 2007 with the Belgian Continental Team Profel Ziegler . In 2009 he won two stages of the Tour de Bretagne . In 2014 he drove for the first time with a UCI ProTeam , the Belgian team Lotto Soudal . At the Tour of Norway , he took fourth place twice and fifth place once in 2012, 2016 and 2017. He won the mountain classification of the Tour de Romandie in 2016 and 2017 . In the hors categorie - Tour Tour des Hauts-de-France in 2017 he finished second in the overall standings. In late summer he achieved his greatest success to date on the hilly 18th stage of the Vuelta a España 2017 , after shaking off his last runaway Alexey Lutsenko on the final ascent .
