Anselm (Joinville)

Anselm von Joinville (French: Anseau de Joinville , * 1265 ; † 1343 ) was lord of Joinville .

He was the son of Johann von Joinville , from his second marriage to Alix de Reynel. As the eldest surviving son, he inherited his father in the Joinville rule in 1317.

King Philip VI of France appointed Anselm Marshal of France in 1339 .

Marriage and offspring

In 1302 he married Laura von Saarbrücken , the daughter of Count Simon IV, who died early. In 1323 he married Margarethe von Vaudémont in his second marriage. In 1346 she inherited the county of Vaudémont from her deceased brother and thus brought it to the Joinvilles.

From his first marriage to Laura von Saarbrücken he had a daughter:

  • Johanna, mistress of Rimaucourt ∞ Johann von Noyers, Count of Joigny

From his marriage to Margarethe von Vaudémont he had the following children:

  • Heinrich (* 1327; † 1365), Count of Vaudémont and Lord of Joinville
  • Isabella ∞ Johann von Vergy, Lord of Mirabeau
  • Mathilde ∞ Karl von Haraucourt
