Ansgar Kemmann (* 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German rhetorician and book author. He is a co-developer of the Open Parliamentary Debate and the national competition Jugend debattiert .

Life

Kemmann studied law and modern history at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , the University of Geneva and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation during his studies . In 2001, together with Michael Hoppmann and Bernd Rex, he developed the open parliamentary debate (OPD) with a comprehensive set of rules. Alongside the British Parliamentary Style (BPS), this format is the most important format in Germany and a format during the German Debating Championship . In November 2001 the non-profit association Streitkultur eV was founded, in which Ansgar Kemmann became the first honorary member.

Ansgar Kemmann is a member and head of several institutions of German rhetoric a. a.

  • Streitkultur eV, honorary member, the association has been the oldest debating club in Germany since the merger with the Tübingen Debate (founded in 1991) in autumn 2004.
  • Jugend debattiert, project manager in the largest German rhetoric competition for schoolchildren.
