The Gravetsch residence is a medium-sized castle - like residence near Villanders in South Tyrol ( Italy ).

history

The building (or a predecessor complex) possibly dates from around 1150, but is only definitely documented in the 13th century , when it was the seat of the Lords of Villanders . In 1331 Gravetsch became the property of the Tyrolean sovereign. In the 16th century the complex was rebuilt and converted into a residence . In 1956 Gravetsch partially burned down and was then rebuilt.

investment

Gravetsch is now home to a farm; the surrounding wall, which is only about one meter wide, is broken through for a tractor entrance. In 2012 the east facade of the residence was restored by the Pupp family and in 2015 the farm was expanded and also offers farm holidays.
