The former residence Kronhalden is located in the upper town of Bregenz . The building is a listed building and is now used as a residential building.
history
The estate was owned by the Counts of Montfort and was named "Hofgut zur Halde" in 1370. In 1523 the court belonged to the Dukes of Austria, in 1547 the liver of Wolfurt and from 1657 the Bregenz patrician Jehlin own the residence. From 1722 it was used as a seminary, from 1779 it belonged to the Mehrerau monastery. From 1924 to 2007 it was a municipal retirement home; today it is a residential complex.
architecture
The three-story main building has a gable roof with two dormers. In the course of the last renovation, two storeys were built into the roof. The building has been rebuilt several times in the course of history. The modern balcony extensions show the current residential use.
Only the basement and ground floor remain of the two-story outbuilding, the floors above were newly built.
As part of the general renovation, an underground car park was built in the courtyard between the two houses, and the property was also examined for archaeological and architectural history.
