Infusion of Champagne
Attack d. J. or Adaltrud, was the wife of Arnulfinger Drogo , Duke of Champagne and son of Pippin the Middle .
There is uncertainty about their origin. The historical sources refer to her as the daughter of Ansfled , the wife of the Frankish housekeeper Waratto , who was first married to Berchar , Waratto's successor as a housekeeper in Neustria. In a certificate she is also referred to as Berchars daughter. Some historians suggest that Anstrudis could have come from a second Ansfleda marriage and that her father could have had the same name as her first husband.
From her marriage to Drogo, which was concluded in 688, she had four children:
- Hugo , Bishop of Rouen
- Arnulf , Duke (dux)
- Pippin , spiritual, probably a monk
- Godefrid , spiritual, probably a monk
