Drogo (Champagne)
Drogo (* around 670; † 708 , buried in the church of St. Arnulf in Metz ) was a son of Pippin the Middle and the pick and great-grandson of Arnulf von Metz , as well as a half-brother of Karl Martell . His father made him dux (Duke) of Champagne (after 695), later dux of Burgundy (around 697). After 688 he married Anstrudis (also Adaltrudis or Anstrudis the Younger), the granddaughter of the house keeper Waratto and Ansfled , widow of the house keeper Berchar , with whom he had four sons:
- Arnulf († after 723), 715 dux
- Hugo († 730), 715 sacerdos (priest), Bishop of Paris , Bishop of Rouen and Bishop of Bayeux , Abbot of Jumièges
- Pippin , 715 attested
- Gottfried , attested in 715
