Anteia (mythology)
Anteia (since the Attic tragedies she was also often called Steneboia, sometimes also called Stenoboia) is the wife of Proitos of Tiryns . She is the daughter of Iobates of Lycia . She fell in love with the young Bellerophon when he was a guest with her and her husband, but was rejected by him. Her love turned to hate and she accused Bellerophon of chasing after her. He was then expelled from court and sent to Iobates with a letter demanding his murder. Anteia and her husband had three daughters, Iphinoe , Lysippe and Iphianassa , who went mad and were cured by Melampus .
