Anteversion

Anteversion ( Latin ante 'in front of' and vertere ' to turn' ) denotes in medicine :

  • the movement of a limb according to ventral (z. B. arm at the shoulder joint)
  • the position of a section of bone towards the ventral side (e.g. the femoral neck against the thigh shaft at the hip joint , the excessive anteversion is called coxa antetorta )
  • the inclination of the uterus to the ventral (front) relative to the longitudinal axis of the vagina, see uterus

The opposite is retroversion .
