Anthony Bottom
Jalil Abdul Muntaqim (born October 18, 1951 in Oakland as Anthony Bottom) is a former member of both the Black Panther Party (BPP) and the Black Liberation Army (BLA).
Life
In his youth he was with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People , demonstrating against police violence and taking part in underground actions.
On May 21, 1971, he was arrested in California along with Albert “Nuh” Washington and Herman Bell and convicted of the murder of two New York police officers . In 1974 Muntaqim was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He is currently located in the Attica Correctional Facility in Attica, New York.
His case is hotly debated in the United States.
