Black Liberation Army

The Black Liberation Army ( BLA ) was one of 1970 in the 1981 to US active underground organization of the civil rights movement of African Americans . It is regarded as a radical splinter group of the Black Panther Party (BPP) and was composed mainly of former members of the same. The declared aim of the Black Liberation Army was, according to its own statements, to take up the armed struggle for the liberation and self-determination of the Afro-American population in the USA. The BLA was one of the organizations of the May 19 Coalition (M19CO) an amalgamation of revolutionary groups in the USA, founded by the Weather Underground .

The BLA is blamed for a number of bomb attacks, robberies and prison breakouts, among other things. Various murders have also been committed, including over a dozen police officers.
