Anthony P. Thirlwall

Anthony P. Thirlwall (born April 21, 1941 ) is a British Keynesian economist.

Life

Thirlwall was born in 1941. He studied economics in Leeds (BA 1962) and at Clark University (MA 1963). In 1964 he returned to Leeds after a stay as a research student at Christ's College (Cambridge) and received his doctorate in 1968. As early as 1966 he was active as a lecturer , from 1970 as a senior lecturer at the University of Kent , before he was appointed Professor of Applied Economics after being appointed Reader in Kent in 1976 ; he held the position until his retirement in 2004.

Thirlwall also advised political institutions in many ways and was often invited for research purposes and visiting professorships at universities abroad, including Princeton (1971/72), Melbourne (1981) and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México . Since 1998 he has been co-editor of the Journal of Post Keynesian Economics .
