Anthony Tieku

Anthony Tiéku (born March 16, 1974 in Accra ) is a former Ghanaian football player .

During his career he played for the following clubs: Hearts of Oak Accra (youth), Hearts of Oak Accra (1992–1995), FSG Schiffweiler (1995–1996), FC 08 Homburg (1996–1998), 1. FC Saarbrücken (1998 –2001), TuS Koblenz (2005–2007).

The defender was under contract with Rot-Weiß Oberhausen from 2001 to 2005 and played 62 games (three goals) for the club. After the relegation of Rot-Weiß Oberhausen to the Regionalliga Nord in 2005, he left the club and moved to the then southern regional division TuS Koblenz (who rose to the second Bundesliga at the end of the 2005/06 season as second in the RL-Süd). His contract, which was valid until the 2006/07 season, was not extended, so Tieku has been without a club since then.

Anthony Tiéku completed a total of 116 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored six goals.

The player became famous for allegations of bribery after causing an own goal in a second division match in the 2004/05 season .
