The foundation aims on the basis of corresponding national and international regulations and guidelines, in particular

  1. Controls and investigations
  2. Information and prevention
  3. Applied research and development
  4. National and international cooperation
  5. Further measures aimed at clean and fair sport

Antidoping Switzerland can initiate and promote further measures to promote clean and fair sport. It is active within the framework of the purpose at home and abroad, but mainly in Switzerland. Antidoping Switzerland is financed around half by Swiss Olympic and the Swiss Confederation ( Federal Office of Sport ).

Controls and investigations

Antidoping Switzerland is responsible for all doping controls of the member associations of Swiss Olympic in accordance with the purpose of the foundation. This task includes the planning and implementation of the controls, the administration of the samples and the management of the analysis results. In addition, applications for special permits for therapeutic purposes (ATZ) are assessed by the Foundation's ATZ commission.

In the case of positive doping cases, its own legal department determines the facts and prepares the necessary documents for an assessment by the Swiss Olympic (DK) disciplinary chamber for doping cases. In all cases, the DC issues a first-instance judgment against which the parties concerned can appeal to the Tribunal Arbitral du Sport (TAS) in Lausanne .

In 2011, the foundation carried out more than 3000 doping tests for the first time. The foundation also carries out checks that have been paid for by third parties (2011: 502). Clients are national or international organizers, international sports associations, WADA or other national anti-doping organizations. The analysis of blood and urine samples takes place in independent laboratories accredited by WADA, mainly in the Laboratoire suisse d'analyse du dopage (LAD) in Epalinges . With the entry into force of the revised Sports Promotion Act in the course of 2012, information from customs or cantonal law enforcement authorities on possible doping violations can also be increasingly included in investigative work.
