The Antirassistische Initiative , also Antirassistische Initiative Berlin , has been an association in Berlin that has been active since 1988 and that deals with racism in society, legislation and politics. The focus is on dealing with the consequences of German deportation policy and offering a contact point for refugees and migrants.

The association works with groups of refugees and migrants such as the Brandenburg refugee initiative and The Voice Refugee Forum and supports campaigns against racist violence, discrimination and marginalization .

Since 1993, the initiative's documentation group has published the annually updated documentation of the Federal German Refugee Policy and its Deadly Consequences . This lists cases in which, in the opinion of the group, refugees or migrants were injured, mistreated or killed by state measures (e.g. during deportations or in custody ) or racist violence.

From 1991 until it was discontinued in 2018, the group was the publisher of the ZAG - anti-racist magazine , which appears several times a year . With the magazine, they pursued the goal of “developing an anti-racist counter-public, providing background information, as well as stimulating and promoting discussions on the subject of anti-racism.” The magazine cooperates with Linksnet .

Until the eviction on June 6, 2005, the association worked on the premises of Yorck59 . Then he moved into a house in Berlin-Friedrichshain ; the documentation group has since shared an office with Libertad! -Berlin in the occupied south wing of Bethanien on Mariannenplatz. This office was affected by the BKA searches on May 9, 2007 in the run-up to the G8 summit.

Several authorities for the protection of the constitution, including those of Brandenburg (2003) and Saxony-Anhalt (2006), classified the initiative as left-wing extremist .
