Anti-resonance

Antiresonance is a term from oscillation theory , which is often used in electrical oscillating circuits .

Antiresonance refers to the sections of the frequency - impedance curve in which the impedance has a local maximum and the phase angle (between input and output voltage) is 180 °. Similarly, in mechanical vibration systems, sections with low vibration (“high mechanical resistance”) can be combined with the term anti-resonance.

In the case of coupled mechanical vibration systems, one speaks of anti-resonance when the frequency response between two natural frequencies has a zero point (deflection at point 0). The force on the mass at the point of introduction is compensated by a mass oscillating in antiphase (vibration absorber).
