Antisarcolemmal antibody

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Antisarcolemmal antibodies (ASA) are formed during heart muscle inflammation . The antibodies bind both to the viruses responsible for myocardial inflammation and cross-reactively against the sarcolemma of the heart muscle cells. Like antimyolemmal antibodies, they are used as diagnostic markers for detecting cardiac muscle inflammation.
