Antistia (wife of Appius Claudius Pulcher)
Antistia was a Roman woman from the plebeian gens of the Antistier . She was the wife of Appius Claudius Pulcher , the consul of the year 143 BC. BC, and mother-in-law of Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus . She is known from ancient literature, especially from a conversation handed down by Plutarch , in which she talks to her husband about the arranged marriage of her daughter to Tiberius Gracchus, about the reputation of Tiberius in the upper class of that time and thus also for his historical one Judgment is important.
