Anticyclonic rotation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An anticyclonic rotation is defined in meteorology as the sense of rotation that arises due to the Coriolis force around an area of high air pressure ( high pressure area ). The air circulates or revolves on the northern hemisphere, in the clockwise direction (clockwise) and in the Southern Hemisphere counterclockwise (to the left).

If the sense of rotation is reversed, one speaks of cyclonic rotation .
