Anton Brüschweiler (* 1963 in Bern ) is a Swiss jazz and rock guitarist , composer , songwriter , columnist and writer .

Career

Anton Brüschweiler studied at the Lucerne School of Music. In 1985 he founded the band “Pünktchen und Anton”, which played a mix between funk, jazz, rock and experimental for six years. In 1992, Brüschweiler began to work intensively with sampling. He recorded two CDs with the band «Anton». The focus was on experimental, song-oriented pop music.

In 1996, Brüschweiler founded the band "Anton and the Headcleaners" (with Hanspeter Pfammatter , Speedy Jossen, Fabian Kuratli , later Tom Gasser, Rico Baumann, Florian Keller, Ueli Kempter, Peter Fischer, Oli Illi). In the compositions, polyrhythmic elements from urban crossover, free funk, trash rock, drum'n 'bass and avant-garde are interwoven. The band toured in various European countries. At the same time, Anton Brüschweiler began to write Bernese dialect songs. From 2000 to 2008 he worked as a singer-songwriter with the band "Die Hellen Barden".

In addition, he developed two stage programs together with the songwriter Peter Sarbach under the name “AnTon am Sarbach”. As part of the songwriter freakshows, Brüschweiler was touring with various German songwriters in Germany and Switzerland. ( Götz Widmann , Rüdiger Bierhorst , Markus Sommer, Jakob Heymann and others)

In 2014, Brüschweiler ran a three-day international music festival for progressive music under the name Zapperlot . Anton Brüschweiler has also been a columnist since 2008. In 2018, his columns were collected in book form under the title Das AntWort - The Truth of the Absurd.

Brüschweiler runs the “Chäsi Gysenstein” cultural center, where he also lives.
