Anton Luger

Anton Luger (born February 8, 1863 in Kilb ; † July 24, 1946 ) was an Austrian politician (German Association / CS ) and business owner. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria .

After elementary school, Luger first worked as a farmhand and then as a carpenter. He did his military service between 1883 and 1886 and in 1889 bought a farm in Hörsdorf , which he subsequently managed. He also became chairman of the dairy and the Mank pasture cooperative . Between 1912 and 1938 he was involved in local politics as mayor of Mank, and he also served as chairman of the Mank district chamber of farmers, councilor and vice-president of the Lower Austrian regional chamber of agriculture. He joined the "German Farmers Association for Lower Austria" at the founding meeting in 1919 and represented the "German Association" between May 20, 1919 and May 11, 1921 in the Lower Austrian state parliament, from November 10, 1920 in the course of separation Vienna of Lower Austria belonged to the Curia of Lower Austria Land. Luger later switched to the Christian Social Party and was therefore deposed as mayor of Mank in 1938. After the Second World War he was mayor again in 1945.
