Antonio Lockward Artiles

Antonio Lockward Artiles (born March 25, 1943 in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican writer.

Lockward studied law at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo until 1967 . This was followed by study visits to France and Israel. In the early 1960s he met Dominican intellectuals like Aída Cartagena Portalatín , joined the Brigadas Dominicanas and took part in the student movement in the group FRAGUA . In 1962 he was elected General Secretary of the Federación de Estudiantes Dominicanos . He later became a member of the El Puño and La Isla writers' groups .
