Antonio Marchi (director)

Antonio Marchi (born May 18, 1923 in Parma , † 2003 ) was an Italian short film director .

Marchi had been an active member of the "Cineguf" and the film club in his hometown since the early 1940s and published the monthly magazine "La critica cinematografica". From 1948 he made a large number of short documentary films and in 1953 organized a conference on neorealism . In the same year he shot his only full-length feature film, Donne e soldati , with Luigi Malerba . Marchi remained loyal to the documentary film and promoted numerous colleagues.
