Antonio Terenghi

Antonio Terenghi (born October 31, 1921 in Alano di Piave , Belluno province , † October 26, 2014 in Milan ) was an Italian cartoonist .

life and work

Terenghi began his comic career as a letterer . At the age of 20 he was drafted and taken prisoner by the British in North Africa . Towards the end of World War II , Terenghi returned to Italy and resumed his work as a letterer. In 1951, Gaia Fantasie published his first comic, Poldo e Poldino . The following year Terenghi began working with the publishing house Universo. For this he drew the comics Nuto l'Astuto , Ademaro il Corsaro , Nita la Svampita , Gastone il Pigrone and Pedrito el Drito . Later Terenghi also worked with the publishing houses Dardo and Alpo. The comics Teddy Sberla , Poldo e Poldino , Caribù , Mac Keron and Gionni e Geppina were created . In 2002 he created the comic strip Pianeta Niep .
