Antonius Mathias Johannes Friedrich Michels (born December 31, 1889 in Amsterdam ; † August 2, 1969 there ) was a Dutch physical chemist.

Michels received his doctorate cum laude under Philipp Abraham Kohnstamm at the University of Amsterdam in 1924 and was lecturer from 1929, extraordinary professor from 1939 and professor at the University of Amsterdam from 1957. From 1960 he held a chair for molecular physics.

He dealt with chemical thermodynamics and high pressure chemistry.
