The Anubieion was an important Ptolemaic - Roman temple district of Anubis on the slope of the Saqqara desert .

It was surrounded by a 250 × 250 m wide brick wall and was located east of the pyramid of Teti and north of the Bubasteion . The temple precinct was criss-crossed by an avenue of the Serapeum flanked by many places of worship . In the southwest was a high platform with the remains of the Anubis Temple. The chamber walls of the substructures were modeled with Bes figures made of clay. In addition, the district had a dog sanctuary , as well as administrative and residential buildings.
