Anufo is an endangered West African language. However, it is the official language of the Chokossi monarchy .
To the northeast in the area of Wawjayga in Ghana is Anufo with around 66,000 speakers from the Anufo people (2003). In Benin about 13,800 to 17,000 people speak Anufo, in Togo there are around 54,000 speakers. Anufo is also used as a commercial language in Togo.
