history

Apache Lenya has been developed since 1999, originally under the name Wyona CMS by the Swiss company Wyona for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung . In 2003 the Wyona CMS was donated to the Apache Software Foundation and renamed Apache Lenya. In 2004, Apache Lenya became a top-level project of the Apache Software Foundation.

On January 11, 2008, the long-awaited version 2.0 was released, which brought numerous improvements in code and functionality.

In July 2015, the further development was stopped and the project moved to the Apache Attic .
