Apastepeque (city)

Apastepeque is a municipality in the department of San Vicente about 6 kilometers east of the city of San Vicente in El Salvador . The city itself has around 10,000 inhabitants; the department has a total of 19,895 inhabitants.

The city is particularly known for numerous fiestas and cultural events, such as the Fiesta de los Moros in January, Santa Rita's Festival in May, celebrations in honor of Santiago in July and the annual Christmas Carnival in December.
