Karl Malkmus

Karl Malkmus (born September 12, 1929 in Frankfurt-Höchst ; † May 24, 1997 in Hofheim am Taunus ) was a German artist .

Life

Malkmus was born on September 12, 1929 in the Höchst district of Frankfurt and lived in Hofheim / Ts until his death in 1997. In 1945 his professional career began: apprenticeship as a church and decoration painter from 1947 to 1948 as a private student with Professor Wilhelm Görlich. From 1949 to 1951 he attended the Werkkunstschule Offenbach . In the following years he worked as a freelance painter (with exhibitions and participation in exhibitions) and interior designer . In 1964 he opened an advertising studio for screen printing and commercial graphics . From 1976 to 1979 he was teaching at the Offenbach am Main University of Design. In 1980 he developed a new screening technique. He was a member of the Hofheimer group and received the art prize of the French twin town Chinon . Karl Malkmus' works are in private and public collections: Hofheim am Taunus district town, Main-Taunus district, State of Hesse and the Main-Taunus art collection.

Exhibitions

He exhibited in Frankfurt am Main, Hofheim am Taunus, Bad Soden, Kronberg, Dresden, Torgau and Kassel.
