Aphareus (Centaur)
Aphareus is a figure from Greek mythology .
Aphareus was one of the Centaurs who attended Peirithoos' wedding ceremony . But when the wine went to his head and the other Centaurs, a bloody fight broke out between them and the Lapiths . In this Aphareus sought to avenge the death of his comrade Diktys by throwing a boulder at Peirithoos. Theseus, however, smashed Aphareus' arms with an oak club and made him unable to fight.
