Coin of Apodacus

Apodakos was a king of the Charakene , who was a vassal state of the Parthians . Apodacus ruled from about 124 to 104/103 BC. And is only known from its silver and bronze coins.

After the death of Hyspaosines , his widow Thalassia is said to have tried to put their underage son on the throne. This event is mentioned in cuneiform texts without the son's name being given.

From the years 110/109 to 104/103 BC The dated coins of Apodacus now come from the 4th century BC. It is uncertain whether he is identical with the son named in the texts, but it seems quite possible. Nothing further is known about his person.
