The Apostle House , also called the Twelve Apostles , is a 17th century residential and commercial building in Schweinfurt .

The Apostelhaus is located in the western area of Schweinfurt's old town , in Apostelgasse, at the corner of Zehntstrasse, not far from the Zeughaus .

The Apostle House is registered under the file number D-6-62-000-27 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian list of monuments. As one of the few historical residential buildings still preserved today, the Apostle House is of particular cultural and historical importance. The building was completed in 1617 with a solid ground floor and a half-timbered upper floor in the corner at the intersection of Apostelgasse and Lange Zehntgasse. The name "MW 1617" is on the arched gate. The Apostelgasse was originally called Scheuengasse or Bey den Schänen and was named Apostelgasse in 1833 at the latest after the Apostle House . The house was topped up in 1913 at the earliest by a full floor and a mansard floor. On the first floor there are still twelve original window pillars and the original corner pillar with rich carvings. In addition to foliage and figures, the ornaments represent the apostles, Christ and Adam and Eve.

Todays use

Today the building is used as a residential and commercial building.
